About Anaïs.
Anaïs is a Bristol drum and bass producer and DJ whose route into the scene began through visits to friends in the city. Watching her friend Anton, from Invicta Audio, DJ made her want to learn herself. Production followed during lockdown, with Oppidan teaching her the skills that helped turn that interest into original records.
Her debut Badgyal EP appeared through Deep in the Jungle Records in 2021. She then joined Hospital Records' Women In Drum & Bass mentorship in 2022, gaining experience in developing tracks and preparing label submissions. That year's Ultrasounds, Vol. 3 showed several sides of her writing, with vocal collaborations alongside darker, more minimal drum and bass.
By 2023 she had joined Hospital as a signed artist and curated Hospital Mixtape: Anaïs. The compilation brought together new music from a wider group of producers as well as her own collaborations, including work with Hugh Hardie. Her jungle-influenced production sat within a release designed to show different corners of the music. Finishing university allowed her to concentrate on music full time, giving her weekdays to write between shows.
