Behind the music

About Aural Imbalance.

Aural Imbalance is Simon Huxtable, a producer from Torbay whose music explores atmospheric drum and bass and jungle. His catalogue includes albums for the Spatial label, among them Fractional Spaces and Fragile Shapes.

His 2026 EP Shortform appeared through Curvature. Original tracks High Time and Magnetism draw on old-school Amen breaks, while Night Vision takes a more introspective direction through synths and 808 bass.

The EP also includes his remix of Ghosts of MIDI’s String Theory, built around chopped Circles breaks and an extended ambient outro. It places a different break alongside the Amen-led originals while keeping the atmospheric character of the release.
