Behind the music

About Kings Of The Rollers.

Kings of the Rollers bring together Serum, Voltage, and Bladerunner. The project grew out of the three playing together, including an impromptu back-to-back session on Rough Tempo, before Hospital Records asked them about making records as a group.

That background helps explain their approach. They came with individual catalogues and different selections, but a shared enthusiasm for rolling drum and bass and for surprising one another behind the decks. Their self-titled Kings Of The Rollers album followed in 2019. The record included jungle tracks such as On The Run and Round Here, as well as vocal collaborations with Inja and room for less aggressive ideas. Jungle and jump-up are both part of their recorded sound.

Their Royal Rumble events developed the group into a headline show in its own right. Studio work has continued alongside the individual projects, and October 2026 brought their second album, The Holy Grail, on Souped Up Records. Across 12 tracks, it includes new vocal collaborations and a VIP of a song from their debut.
