Behind the music
About Moekel.
Moekel, also styled mœkel, is a producer from Graz, Austria, whose work takes in original drum and bass, remixes, and bootlegs. Celsius Recordings invited him to share its 84th podcast with Nelver in October 2023, connecting his DJ selection with a catalogue that also includes music for onesevenfour and SINFUL MAZE.
His second onesevenfour release, Yantra (I Got The Music) / Rockstarr, arrived in 2024. The label presented it as modern drum and bass made for the dancefloor, describing the contrast between the strings and vocals of Yantra and the stuttering approach of Rockstarr, whose second drop moves into a four-to-the-floor kick pattern.
Alongside those originals, Moekel has reworked records including Madonna's Frozen and Bicep's Glue. In his own notes for the latter, he explained that the original's floating, liquid feel prompted a drum and bass version initially intended for his own sets. The four-track Forbidden EP followed on SINFUL MAZE in September 2026, collecting Sun Dips Low, All Night, On My Own, and Forbidden Voices.
