About Muffler.
Muffler is a Finnish drum and bass producer whose catalogue includes releases on Hospital, Moving Shadow, Spearhead Records, DSCI4, and Commercial Suicide. His work reaches back beyond those label connections into the computer-music scene, where he was already composing tracks in the 1990s.
The archive release XM Modules 1998 documents that earlier work. Its seven tracks were made with FastTracker 2 on a Pentium PC and appeared in demos and intros by Haujobb and Doomsday. Released in September 2026, the collection preserves an earlier way of making electronic music, with short pieces including the Lights series and Stigma.
His later drum and bass albums include Stone Cold, released through Spearhead in October 2015. Other longer releases include the Mermaids EP, Composer, and Thousand Planets.
He continued releasing new music alongside that archive project, with the Lazers EP in July 2026 and The Jungle Spirit and The Frost Spirit later that year.
