About Philth.
Philth is London producer Phil Robinson, whose records move between soulful liquid, rolling tech, and deep, minimal drum and bass. He began buying records in the late 1990s, progressing from bedroom mixes to pirate radio and local parties before studying music technology and starting to release his own productions.
His debut album, Moments in Time, arrived through Dispatch Recordings in two parts. It grew partly out of a master’s project exploring how soundtrack techniques could work within drum and bass, with the finished album drawing on experiences from his own life.
Alongside recording and DJing, Robinson has taught music and offered private production tuition. His Foundations sample pack focuses on drums and bass, covering the different styles he writes for Dispatch, Flexout Audio, and Integral Records.
