Behind the music

About Styke.

Styke is a drum and bass producer from The Hague whose work draws on the music of Lenzman and Alix Perez. Having grown up around electronic music, he settled on drum and bass as the focus of his own production.

His connection with The North Quarter became especially clear on Mountains Past, released in April 2025. The five-track EP brought Verona together with Clustered, Scars, Find A Way, and Let You Know, the last made with switch/case and Steo. Styke presented the record as a return to the label whose music had helped shape his approach.

The label describes the EP as soulful drum and bass, with collaboration forming part of that writing. Other recordings broaden the picture: Slow Dance credits T.R.A.C., while Human Being / Human Doing pairs Styke with Wolf Pax on Galacy.
