About Sudley.
Sudley is a drum and bass producer and DJ originally from Salisbury whose development was closely tied to Bristol’s club scene. Moving to the city in 2016 brought him into a community of musicians and promoters; he later described that environment as a source of both opportunity and creative encouragement.
His early profile grew through bootlegs, but his original productions also explored the more technical end of the genre. The Rapidash EP on ProgRAM drew on a period of experimenting with minimal and techier drum and bass in 2020 and 2021. Speaking in 2023, he explained that the tracks captured a particular stage of his development rather than the full range of music he was then making.
He has released through Hospital Records and DnB Allstars as well as ProgRAM. In the studio, a period of more focused learning during lockdown helped him develop the skills behind that growing catalogue. His DJ sets are characterised by quick mixing and experimental combinations.
A later move took him to Los Angeles. He also works with Sample Genie on tutorials and samples covering instrumental production, vocals, and song structure.
