Behind the music
About Tanukichi.
Tanukichi is a Japanese DJ and producer whose music connects drum and bass with the hardtek and tekno worlds of European free parties. A formative encounter with Teknival culture in Japan in 2006 helped shape that direction, leading him towards a sound-system approach that crosses national scenes as readily as musical styles.
His recorded work reflects that broad rave background. The album That Feeling brings his production into a full-length format, while his collaborations include That Rush with Bob Ranks. He releases through Night On Earth Records, with music and label material also gathered through his Hardtek.jp platform.
His productions make room for four-to-the-floor drum and bass, hardtek, hardstyle and Frenchcore, keeping the connection to drum and bass within a broader rave practice.
