Aaron Mello traces DNBB Records to a Brazilian drum and bass community on Orkut in 2008 and the Sounds Of Community project. The professional label followed in 2012, turning that online community into an outlet for Brazilian producers to reach listeners overseas.
The catalogue includes Mystific, Nasz, and PRVAIL, alongside recordings involving Fernanda Porto and DJ Patife. Drum and bass remains DNBB Records’ focus within a wider group that releases other styles.
As the label grew, artist development and release planning became a larger part of the work. In his 2026 Label Spotlight, Mello described the challenge of continuing to give individual artists attention within the expanding operation.
