Joe Goss, Jack ‘Pola’ Higgins, and Liam Holyoak-Rackal founded Soulvent Records in East London in early 2014 to give younger artists a platform. GLXY, BMotion, and Pola & Bryson were among its early releases, with Pola & Bryson’s This Time Last Year becoming the label’s first artist album in 2016.
Albums continued to develop that catalogue. In:Most’s 2020 Voyager takes in liquid and dancefloor drum and bass, while projects from Askel & Elere, Mountain, and Visionobi sit alongside the multi-artist Soul Music collections.
A formal partnership with Hospital Records in 2020 led to the remix project Soulvent Meets Hospital. Soulvent returned to more independent operation in late 2023, and its 2024 releases brought returning contributors such as Hugh Hardie together with first appearances from Invadhertz and Hillsdom. The label has continued releasing artists at different stages of their careers, following the purpose its founders set out in 2014.
