A full review of WAH in the City 2025 at Silverworks Island. Featuring sets from Sub Focus, Hybrid Minds, Hedex and more, in one of London’s most iconic rave settings.
From midday skanking to sundown skyline moments and a Sub Focus masterclass, WAH in the City 2025 brought thousands together for a proper drum and bass day out in East London.
Set at Silverworks Island on Sunday 6 July, the latest edition of Worried About Henry’s all-day city festival delivered the goods. A serious lineup, a one-of-a-kind setting, and a crowd that was up for it from the very first drop. This wasn’t just a rave. It was a landmark moment for the UK DnB calendar.

The setting was just one of the great things about it. With Canary Wharf as the backdrop and the O2 just across the water, the site had a raw, industrial charm that gave the event a proper edge. Getting there meant a short walk from Custom House station, and once inside, the layout was smart and easy to navigate.
That said, the scale of the crowd meant queues at times. The bars, food stalls and toilets did get busy during peak hours. But overall, things moved well, and the vibe stayed calm throughout. There was enough space to dance, catch your breath, and find your way between the stages without too much hassle.
A bit of early rain added to the energy rather than killing it. People threw on ponchos, pulled their hoods tight and raved straight through it. The sun came out soon after, setting up one of the most iconic golden hours the festival has seen.
Things started strong on the Main Arena with Nathan X, Issey Cross and A Little Sound building momentum through the afternoon. Sota with MC ID stepped things up, followed by a heavyweight session from Kanine with Rage MC that shook the floor.
At 5pm, Hedex arrived with Eksman, and the place went off. Titled My Home Is the Rave, the set was pure, undiluted jump-up energy. Wall to wall reloads, anthems back to back, and a crowd that didn’t stop moving once.
K Motionz followed with IC3, keeping the pace high and the selections tight. His set bridged the heavier energy of Hedex with the more melodic tones that would soon arrive.
By 8pm, the sun was low, the city was glowing, and Hybrid Minds took to the stage. With Tempza on mic duties, their set delivered everything fans hoped for. Lush vocals, soaring melodies, and a shared sense of connection that swept through the crowd.
It was one of those festival moments you don’t forget. The skyline behind them, the sound perfectly tuned, and thousands of people singing along as the day gave way to night.

Sub Focus closed the Main Arena with a commanding set that blended classics, fresh material and everything in between. His Circular Sound session proved once again why he sits at the top of the game. Precision mixing, clean visuals and relentless momentum all the way through.
There was no drop in energy, no filler, just a final hour of expertly controlled power. A perfect way to end the day.

The Deck stage was packed from start to finish. Highlights included Harriet Jaxxon with Jolie P, Charlie Tee with Savvy B, Emily Makis with Deadline, and a full-force performance from Kings of the Rollers with Inja.
On the Multi stage, deeper heads were treated to a string of b2b sets from the likes of Koherent and Spectral, Kyrist and Molecular, and Azifm with Workforce. The sound there stayed clean and heavy all day, offering a darker alternative to the Main Arena.
S.P.Y with LowQui closed it with a razor-sharp final set that kept people locked in right until the last kick.
Food was solid and varied, with everything from jerk and wraps to proper loaded chips. Security was tight but respectful, helping the day run smoothly. Even with the big crowd, the atmosphere stayed friendly and open from start to finish.
This was more than a party. It was a showcase of how far the scene has come, and how powerful it still is when done right. From the jump-up chaos of Hedex to the emotion of Hybrid Minds, from the clean visuals behind Sub Focus to the raw weight of the underground stages, WAH in the City 2025 had it all.
A real moment for drum and bass in the capital.
See you next year!
