Battle of The Planets

Battle of the Planets (BOTP) is a collective project led by New Zealand’s MC Woody, bringing together a covert crew of producers, MCs and scene disruptors under coded aliases. Functioning as both a music project and a narrative-driven concept, BOTP operates at the heart of Woodysworld Records, turning releases into transmissions and performances into episodes within the wider “Woodyverse.”

The collective’s music spans deep, heavy and experimental ends of drum & bass, frequently shared as dubplate-only sets and immersive showcase mixes. Each alias within BOTP represents a different character or voice, contributing to a rotating cast that blurs the line between collaboration and mythology. This mystery-driven approach has fuelled speculation around the identities of contributors, with fans worldwide attempting to decode who’s behind the music.

By fusing high-impact sound design with comic-inspired world-building, Battle of the Planets has quickly established itself as one of the most original projects in contemporary drum & bass.
