Behind the music
About Dawn Raid.
Dawn Raid are Manchester's ADT and Kingsize, a jungle and drum and bass partnership whose work extends from production and DJing to running Hocus Pocus Recordings. The imprint dates from December 2012, giving the pair an outlet alongside their releases for other labels.
Their catalogue includes music for MAC II, Ruffneck Ting, Natty Dub Recordings, and Tru Thoughts. Their series of free jungle refixes includes treatments of songs by Morgan Heritage, Donell Jones, and Skip Marley with H.E.R.
Hocus Pocus has remained central to their output, with releases including Liar Liar, Teflon Riddim, Lift Me Up, Gully Sully, and Night Of Swords. Their official catalogue also connects them with Suburban Base Records through Disco Biscuits.
