Behind the music
About Dj Andy.
DJ Andy's career runs through more than three decades of Brazilian club music. He began a residency at the Overnight Club in 1992 and stayed for more than 10 years, bringing techno-rave, hardcore, and jungle into his selection. That history helps explain the breadth of his DJing, which extends from drum and bass to house, techno, and old-school records.
His production catalogue connects him to several generations of drum and bass labels, including Full Cycle, V Recordings, Liquid V, Chronic, ProgRAM, and Grid Recordings. Grid released his six-track Spread Love EP in December 2023.
Andy has also put Brazilian producers at the centre of his work. The 2022 compilation DJ Andy Presents The Brazilian Takeover assembled 22 tracks for the V Recordings and Chronic camp. Beyond releasing and selecting records, he runs Bass Music Academy, a school focused on drum and bass production and broken beats. He also records DJ Andy In The Mix broadcasts.
