Melinki founded Four Corners Music in the south-east of the UK in 2017, making room for the different kinds of drum and bass he enjoys. His signing choices take in aggressive jump-up and jazz-influenced liquid, allowing artists with contrasting sounds to appear on the same label.
Melinki’s Harrowdub EP includes collaborations with Qua Rush, Low:r, Macca, and Decaz. The catalogue also includes Physics, Cybin, and Conrad Subs, alongside releases such as Hexa’s paired single Catch Your Breath / Trepidation.
That approach comes from the variety Melinki enjoyed at raves, where contrasting DJs could play on the same night. Four Corners takes in liquid, jump-up, jungle, and more technical music, selected for different moods and settings. His plans for its 100th release in 2024 paired music from artists who had inspired the label with new recordings from its regular contributors.
The Four Corners Music Podcast shares more of the music. Behind the releases, Melinki allows time for mastering, artwork, and complete projects, treating those preparations as part of running the label alongside selecting the tracks.
