Behind the music

About E-Sassin.

E-Sassin is Los Angeles producer and DJ Eric Hull, whose route into drum and bass began with playing drums in progressive rock and jazz fusion bands in the late 1970s. After working in metal during the following decade, he moved into electronic music through the techno and rave culture of the late 1980s.

A self-released techno album in 1992 led to work with L.A. Rave and The Movement. Touring with The Movement introduced him to jungle, and by 1996 he had turned his production attention to drum and bass. Later that year, he founded Sound Sphere Recordings as an outlet for his own material.

His subsequent catalogue includes releases and remix work for labels such as Moving Shadow, Renegade Hardware, and Human Imprint. In 2014, he was among the winners of a Dom & Roland remix competition, with his version of Get Up released through Dom & Roland Productions. He later shared a VIP version of that remix through his own channel.
