Behind the music
About Euphonique.
Euphonique is a jungle and drum and bass producer and DJ who grew up in Manchester and later made Bristol her base. Jungle runs through her own music and her selection, while label work, events and mentoring have become substantial parts of her career.
Her releases have reached Hospital Records, Born on Road, Dread Recordings and Jungle Cakes. The Glow for Ruffneck Ting grew out of a close working relationship with Dazee, bringing her into the orbit of a label with deep roots in Bristol drum and bass.
That production work draws on a background in playing instruments, including drums. She has described building percussion from clicks, snaps and unusual sounds, then working carefully to make each part fit. Collaborating with Dazee gave her another producer to exchange ideas with, as well as an experienced DJ’s view of what worked in a room.
Her own Subwoofah Records combines releases with events, providing space for other artists alongside her records. In 2022 she moved into a full-time music career, with support that helped her develop the business side. Mentoring through Younique and the AAA Academy at Lakota extends that work to newer DJs and producers. The different roles connect around the same practical experience: making music, playing it out and helping others find their way into the scene.
