About Jamie Bostron.
Jamie Bostron is a Glasgow producer and DJ whose music brings reggae and dancehall into dubwise jungle. Also releasing and playing as J Bostron, he describes his sound through the music of Caribbean soundsystems, with turntablism and soundclash records part of the same enthusiasm.
His remix work includes music by Mungo’s Hi Fi, Benny Page, and vocalists including Sizzla, Mr Williamz, and Lutan Fyah. That list reflects records he has reworked as well as the wider musical world he draws from; a remix credit is not necessarily a studio collaboration with the singer.
The more recent catalogue includes his version of Jfal’s This Morning for the Start Kill EP, alongside remixes of Conscious Route and Hippo Sound System. His own releases include Know You Lie, while Chalice Ah Lick, made with Subtifuge, appeared in 2025.
His DJ mixes put those strands alongside one another rather than treating jungle as a closed world. Roots, dancehall, and bass music share space in the selections, making the connection between the original songs and their faster, breakbeat-led versions easy to follow.
