Behind the music

About Nia Archives.

Nia Archives is a British producer, singer, and DJ whose jungle records put her own songwriting alongside fast, restless breaks. Her songs draw on personal experiences, with her singing sitting against the rush of the drums.

Her debut EP, Headz Gone West, arrived in April 2021, bringing together Sober Feels, Crossroads, and the title track. Released through her own HIJINXX imprint, it introduced both her voice and her production, with the artist describing a record intended for listeners of all genders and backgrounds.

On her debut album, Silence Is Loud, released in April 2024, she made a deliberate effort to go further with the writing. In an interview with the Recording Academy, she explained that she had studied songwriters outside dance music and wanted to be more honest about her own experiences. Jungle’s intensity remained central, but the album also made space for the guitars and song structures she had been listening to beyond the rave.

Her second album, Emotional Junglist, followed in July 2026 on Island Records. It included Get Me Down with Jorja Smith and Tender with Sampha, alongside There Goes Ma Head. Her work also extends through Up Ya Archives, a label and radio platform giving other producers and DJs room to bring their own versions of jungle to the audience.
