Phil:osophy brings Philth and Phil Tangent together around the more soulful end of drum and bass. Their joint project gives two solo producers a place to explore shared interests in melody, sampling, and emotional musicality, with releases on Integral Records, Future Retro, Lunar Records, and Dispatch Recordings.
Integral's Searching for Meaning EP arrived in 2018, with the title track built around the melodic bass and detailed drum programming highlighted by the label. The partnership's liquid direction continued through releases such as Meditation and Eclipse, before expanding into further collaborations. First Light includes Peace Of Mind with Sense MC and Spirit with pyxis.
Their 2023 Dispatch debut, Guarded / Old Soul, centred on what the label described as deep, rolling soul. It brought their sampling and drum work into another setting without abandoning the partnership's melodic character. In 2025, their work for Integral included Xanadu, Still in Love, and Pick up the Pieces, the latter featuring Ella Sopp.
