About pyxis.
pyxis came to releasing her own drum and bass after years working behind the scenes in music royalties. Inspired by LTJ Bukem’s Music, she had been making and revisiting ideas long before her first releases in 2019. Her records move between jungle-influenced rhythms and liquid, with melody and collaboration central to the writing.
Goldfat, Four Corners, Eloisa and Spearhead have released her music, and her collaborators include Mitekiss, Iris and NickBee. On Eloisa, the 2020 XX EP brought women producers and vocalists together. Her own history also fed into Phoenix: an idea written roughly two decades earlier was reworked for release, then developed with Mixmaster Doc into a guitar-led version with Favata.
In 2020 she launched Beats In Mind, a nonprofit label raising funds and awareness for mental health through its Headsbass compilations. What began as an idea for a single album grew through contributions from across drum and bass, with mastering, artwork and music offered by fellow artists.
