QO is Czech drum and bass producer and DJ Petr Vicher, whose records draw on the harder end of the music: techstep, neurofunk, and a longstanding interest in groove. Konflict were an early influence, and releases for Close 2 Death, Trust In Music, and Disturbed preceded his 2011 Citrus single Infected / War Stomp.
Eatbrain became another home for that sound. Away from his own releases, QO helped establish Hoofbeats Music in 2016. The Czech label gave him and his friends somewhere to release their work while also bringing new producers into the fold.
For his 2023 Evolution Chamber single Insectoid, he returned to the techstep records that had first caught his attention. Speaking to DMC World, he described wanting to combine those older influences with contemporary production, keeping groove at the centre of the track. His work with Prdk has continued through records including Propaganda and Click Clack, the latter appearing on Evolution Chamber’s EC100 sampler series in 2026.
There is a practical side to his interest in sound, too. Alongside music and production lessons, Vicher makes wooden acoustic panels through QO Acoustics.
