Behind the music
About Scrufizzer.
Scrufizzer is a West London MC, rapper, and producer whose rapid-fire “fizzy flow” has found a home across grime, bass music, and drum and bass. His roots are in grime, and his recording career has taken him through house and UK garage as well as D&B, often as the vocalist on another producer’s track.
His 2013 single Kick It, released through Black Butter Records, brought that delivery to a wider audience. His own releases and collaborations have since kept him moving between the grime scene and club music, with a catalogue that includes bass-house records alongside his drum and bass work.
For D&B listeners, his partnership with Harry Shotta is a useful starting point. Their 2025 collaboration Labour Of Love, released on High Focus Records, was described by the label as a mixture of jungle, hip-hop, grime, and breakbeats. It gave the two MCs a record that drew directly on their shared musical background.
Later that year, ShockOne and NCT brought him onto Rockstar Bass for Monstercat. His work with Sigma includes CHARGIE and SODP, the latter a collaboration with Basslayerz released on 30 October 2026.
