Shimon

Shimon is a British drum and bass producer and the founder of Audioporn Records Ltd. His earlier history includes RAM Records and Ram Trilogy, while his later work connects label management with renewed studio activity and collaborations with a younger generation of producers.

Running Audioporn meant that production sometimes took a smaller share of his time. Discussing his return to the studio with UKF in 2017, he described the demands of developing the label and managing artists alongside his own music. The imprint’s range was part of that work, rather than proof that every style in its catalogue belonged to Shimon himself.

His recordings with Benny L became an important part of the next chapter. In a Your EDM interview, Shimon described passing Yeti back and forth between their studios and testing it over time before finalising the release. He identified it as a roller, making the named collaboration a clear reference point for that side of his production.

The pairing also appears in Audioporn’s authorised catalogue through records such as Sharks VIP. For listeners moving between the older and newer music, those credits provide a useful map: Shimon’s solo work, Ram Trilogy productions, and the Benny L collaborations are connected parts of a career, with each recording retaining its own identity.
