Behind the music

About Smuskind.

Smuskind is a German production duo with roots in Bochum and Datteln. Drum and bass is central to the project, alongside an interest in dubstep and trap that was part of the conversation when Jonas appeared on eldoradio’s Vinyl Asyl programme in 2019.

Drum Army has been a recurring home for their releases. The catalogue includes Fractale, Home 0234, and 2024’s Boom Shak, whose three tracks were Boom Shak, Wisdom, and Save Me. The four-track Survival Mode followed in June 2025, bringing in Bomsh on the title track and DJFU on Butternotes, alongside All and Parallel.

Collaboration also shaped their 2020 guest mix for DNB Dojo. Its selection placed Smuskind productions with OaT, Ophobot, Invadhertz, and Seibel alongside music from other producers, giving a snapshot of the duo’s work within the deeper, rolling end of drum and bass.
