Behind the music

About Station Earth.

Station Earth was the Belgian drum and bass project of Matthias De Herdt and Jelle De Maeyer, best known for records including Starcaller, Astral Walker, and Cold Green Eyes. Their early work brought liquid melodies and expansive synth sounds into the country’s growing drum and bass circuit.

The duo came together in 2012, with a practical split between the studio and the DJ booth. Matthias developed the productions while Jelle took the music into sets. Starcaller appeared on Radar Records, and their performances reached events including Rampage and Tomorrowland.

Cold Green Eyes, featuring Roos Denayer, became part of Liquicity’s catalogue in 2014. Their archive also includes Age of Reason, Myth of Er, and a remix of Manoeuvres’ Mad World, giving the Station Earth name a recognisable body of melodic drum and bass.

Matthias later began recording as Blue Marble. The Station Earth accounts direct listeners towards that project, while the earlier records remain under the duo’s name. It is a useful distinction when exploring the music: Station Earth documents their work together, and Blue Marble carries Matthias’s subsequent solo production.
