Behind the music

About Stray.

Stray is Jonathan Fogel, a London producer working across drum and bass and hip-hop. His solo catalogue includes the Matchsticks EP on Exit Records and Ginseng Smash on Critical Music, where older jungle breaks became part of his approach to drum and bass.

The seven-track Paradise EP followed on Exit in June 2015. Its tracks include Walk on By, Movements, Queen, and Branflakes, bringing his hip-hop and jungle interests into the same release.

Fogel also co-founded Ivy Lab with Sabre and Halogenix. Their collaboration began with Oblique in 2012, before the Ivy Lab name appeared on Afterthought in 2013. He later recalled making Oblique in Logic while at university in Leeds, exchanging music by email with the other members.
