Subp Yao is Dutch producer Gert-Jan van Stiphout, whose hip-hop roots developed into wide-ranging bass music, Doggtown releases, and work with yunis.

About Subp Yao.
Subp Yao is Gert-Jan van Stiphout, a Dutch producer with roots in Heerlen’s hip-hop and electronic music communities. Making hip-hop came first; hearing Digital Mystikz at Dour Festival in 2008 encouraged him to explore more of the bass music around it.
As part of the Doggtown collective, he released City of Dreams in 2014. His approach to production and DJing took in UK garage, half-tempo drum and bass, and trap, with the freedom to move between them central to the project.
His 2025 collaboration with yunis, O.O.S., continues that interest in rhythm and bass. The pair share writing and production credits, with yunis handling the mix and mastering.
