Behind the music
About Technimatic.
Technimatic are Peter Rogers and Andy Powell, a British drum and bass duo whose partnership grew out of an online producers' forum. Both had collected hardcore and drum and bass records before they started making music together, finding a shared interest in its melodic side.
Their name combines the aliases they previously used: Technicolour and Komatic. The collaboration clicked quickly, giving them a joint identity rather than two separate names on each release. Their debut album, Desire Paths, followed in 2014.
They later established Technimatic Music, their own label. For All of Us, released in 2023, was their fourth album and the first to arrive through that imprint. Vocal contributions included DRS, alongside songs written and produced by the duo themselves.
The independence extends beyond the music: Rogers also designed the album's sleeve. The pair described the record as a response to disconnection and uncertainty after the pandemic, using music as a source of connection. That intent gives context to their liquid drum and bass catalogue without reducing it to a list of moods or guest appearances.
