About The Outside Agency.
The Outside Agency are the Dutch partnership of DJ Hidden and Eye-D, working where industrial hardcore meets drum and bass. Their history reaches back to releases on Mokum in the 1990s, followed by a period in which the members concentrated on drum and bass before returning to hardcore at the start of the next decade.
Their Genosha Recordings label became a home for the harder material, while Genosha One Seven Five, established in 2008, gave their hardcore and drum and bass crossover a dedicated outlet. That distinction matters: The Outside Agency’s catalogue spans several tempos and approaches rather than fitting neatly within drum and bass alone.
The Crossbreed Definition Series makes the crossover explicit. Its third part paired them with Current Value on They Are Human and Switch Technique on Senseless Society. A fourth instalment followed in 2023, continuing a series that combines breakbeat-driven production with hardcore.
