About Vektah.
Vektah is Lawrence Bachell, a London-based drum and bass producer who likes a tune to have melody as well as weight. His early musical interests included guitar, violin, hip-hop, grime, and rock. Drum and bass gave him a place to bring those different tastes together.
His first releases arrived in 2021. Fire In Your Eyes introduced the project, followed by Request on Soulvent Records. The latter combined bright synths with forceful bass, jungle breaks, and ragga vocals, making its contrast between the introduction and drop part of the appeal. Whiney later remixed it.
The melodic side became clearer on Every Time, released alongside Good To Me. Talking to UKF, Vektah explained how he enjoyed both liquid and heavier music, with Break among the producers whose balance of musicality and impact he admired. Time working with Submotive also helped him develop his production.
His DJ work takes the same flexible approach. Rather than playing one kind of set regardless of the occasion, he adapts to the room and his slot, whether that means an early warm-up or a late headline appearance.
