Manu began Detached Audio as an experimental outlet, with K2T, also known as Karan Ponnuthurai, becoming involved in summer 2017. The label kept space for melodic music and heavier drum and bass, allowing artists to continue releasing elsewhere.
Its catalogue includes Hex’s Distances EP and Kipsy’s Body, Soul, Feet, featuring Uphonix. Kipsy’s release draws on funk, soul, and organic liquid drum and bass, while Mindloader’s When We Forget / Facade takes a darker direction.
The Segments compilations bring returning artists together with new contributors. Ben Rolo and Sol Pillars have also supplied remixes of K2T’s album.
