Nuusic grew from a music-sharing page into a club night and then a label. Rafiki Dubs and Joe Mac met while raving in Manchester around 2013, later running the project and DJing together under its name. They wanted to help producers around them reach a wider audience.
Conrad Subs became a recurring contributor through projects including Amens in Ipswich and Don’t Blame the DJ. The label’s jungle and drum and bass catalogue also includes Teej, Speaker Louis, Guzi, and Sola, alongside the Dub Culture series.
Guzi’s Goldstone Life LP and Sola’s Dance In The Rain EP both appeared in 2023. Occasional Nuusic events continued alongside the releases, keeping the club connection which had helped the project develop before it became a label.
