Vandal Records began in Toulouse in 2004, when SKS was asked to put together a drum and bass division alongside Laurent’s Fox Tanz techno labels. He supplied the name, artwork, and music, then took Vandal forward independently after its first six vinyl releases.
With support from Redeyes, the label developed a catalogue taking in minimal, soulful, deep, and halftime music. Fifteen Years Of Vandal brought established contributors together with newer producers to mark that history. Rather than keeping every direction under one name, SKS and Redeyes also founded Vandal Limited in 2014, giving liquid and deep drum and bass a dedicated sublabel.
