Varkid – Wait For You (Dirtbox Recordings Premiere)

It comes in quietly, almost like it’s already part of the mix. Wait For You doesn’t push for attention early, it just settles in and lets the vocal do the work.

There’s space in the intro. Proper space. The vocal sits clean over soft pads, giving DJs room to stretch the blend without it feeling thin. It holds its place without needing extra movement around it.

When the drums land, they’re straight to the point. Snare hits sharp and forward, locking everything into place. The groove rolls underneath with a steady pace, nothing flashy, just reliable movement that keeps things ticking.

The bassline stays tucked in. Sub-led, controlled, doing exactly what it needs to without stepping on the vocal. That balance keeps the track easy to work with in a mix, especially when layering over something busier.

Into the drop, it doesn’t switch direction. It just deepens. The vocal threads through the structure, giving the track its identity while the drums and low-end carry the weight underneath.

This sits comfortably in the middle of a set. When things need to breathe a bit, but you’re not ready to let go of the floor.

Wait For You features on Varkid’s Finally album, out via Dirtbox Recordings, adding a more stripped, vocal-led moment to the wider release.
