AceMoMa is the partnership between New York producers AceMo and MoMA Ready, bringing jungle and footwork into a musical world that also includes house and techno. Adrian Mojica and Wyatt Stevens had their own projects before working together, and the collaboration leaves room for both of those identities.

Their A New Dawn EP appeared through Haus of Altr in 2019. The label is part of Stevens’ own creative network, giving the partnership a place within the DIY community they were already building. Rather than treating drum and bass as a separate scene to visit, their records move between fast breaks and other forms of club music.

In a Beatportal interview, the pair discussed how that work connects with being Black artists in electronic music, and with creating spaces for a wider community. Making and releasing music themselves gave them a way to act on those ideas, alongside their DJ work and individual catalogues.

The later A Future project continued the collaboration. For drum and bass listeners, the jungle strand is an obvious point of entry, but it is only part of the picture. AceMoMa’s records make more sense when heard alongside their house, techno, and footwork interests, rather than expecting a conventional D&B duo with one settled style.
