Behind the music

About Adred.

New York producer and DJ Adred is Adam Baker, whose work in drum and bass grew alongside his involvement in the city’s club scene. As a promoter with Natural Selection NYC, he built relationships with visiting artists before giving more of his time to recording. Marcus Intalex signed 170 Untitled, the first drum and bass track Adred made, for Soul:r’s Fourfit EP 06.

His debut album, KIM, arrived on Metalheadz in February 2020. Named after his late father, it carries a personal connection through the Fender Rhodes that Baker inherited and used in his music. Its 16 tracks brought together collaborators including Commix, DRS, Robert Manos, Dave Owen, and Strategy, placing instrumental writing alongside vocal contributions.

The connection with Manos continued on the title track of Grand Illusions, released by The Chikara Project in September 2026. The four-track EP also includes a collaboration with Shaper.
