Astral Haze

Astral Haze is a Cardiff-based producer working across atmospheric drum and bass, deep underground house, and old-school hip-hop. Self-taught, he began experimenting with studio equipment in the 1990s. He is one half of Modular II.

His solo Odyssey of the Mind EP arrived on Omni Music in July 2023. Its four tracks combine chopped jungle rhythms with pads, piano, and two-step beats. His first solo LP, Carpe Diem, followed in July 2024, extending that palette across 14 tracks, with four skits threaded through the album. The record moves between harder-edged tracks and more dreamlike material, bringing breaks and melody into both.

His collaborative work includes the 2025 album Time Dilation with Eschaton, which brings together original productions and remixes of each other's music. A further project with Sub Motion combines two joint originals with reciprocal remixes. His four-track release with Perspective:R, issued in April 2025, continues the focus on atmospheric melodies and chopped breaks. He has also recorded with Freebird, contributing to the latter's December 2025 EP.

His music has also appeared on Soultribe Music through We Are the Soultribe. Dirtbox Recordings issued The Fear as part of Killers Of DNB Vol. 1.
