Behind the music

About Beat Merchants.

Beat Merchants is the drum and bass partnership of MC Juiceman and Jubbz, also known as Supply & Demand. Their first releases brought singers and MCs into the centre of the project, with V Recordings providing a home from the beginning.

Whisper introduced the duo in 2019, featuring vocals from Brace and Dan-I. They had sent the track to Bryan Gee, who decided it should be their debut. For Juiceman, the response when people heard it was enough to show that the combination of musical production and a strong vocal was working.

The Lockdown EP followed later that year. Its title track features Eclecton Jarret and Color T, while Believe brings together Dan-I and T.R.A.C.. Remixes by Command Strange and L-Side give the four-track release a different perspective on the duo’s material.

The Africa EP arrived in 2020 with Mandelah, Juju Man, Mbe Mbe, and Zumuzah. Later, Riddim Up appeared in both its original form and a Jungle Mix.
