Charli Brix

Charli Brix is a Bristol vocalist, songwriter, DJ, and producer whose place in drum and bass begins with the song. Her collaborations give producers a voice to build around, but her own releases also make space for the writing and musical interests behind that voice.

Her first drum and bass vocal was on Submatik’s Tempted, a piano-led liquid track that caught her attention through its jazz flavour. Enei later found her on SoundCloud and invited her to sing on Just One Look for his album Rituals. More sessions followed, helping establish a partnership across several tracks.

Her debut album, The Art Of Change, appeared on Flexout Audio in 2023, following the Kintsugi EP. The record brings together collaborators including Visages, DRS, Hyroglifics, QZB, and Lenzman. Those credits belong around her songs, rather than replacing her as the centre of the record.

Soul has always been part of her musical life outside drum and bass, too. In her UKF interview, she described singing with Collette Warren and forming Milk & Honey, with Hugh Hardie on keys. Working with a band gave her a different way to write and exchange ideas, something that helps explain the range of her work as a vocalist and performer.
