Behind the music
About dBridge.
dBridge is Darren White, a producer and DJ whose career connects drum and bass with soul and experimental rhythms. A founding member of Bad Company UK, he developed a separate catalogue through his own Exit Records.
White started Exit in 2003 as an outlet for his solo work. Its early releases allowed him to explore a more melodic direction, and the label soon expanded to include other artists when he began receiving music he wanted to release.
His album The Gemini Principle followed in 2008. Another important development came through his collaboration with Instra:mental and the Autonomic project, including a podcast series, club night, and label. Its spacious rhythms and reduced reliance on conventional breakdowns and drops offered another way to approach the drum and bass tempo.
Exit's broad catalogue reflects White's preference for discovery over a fixed stylistic boundary. He has described independent labels spanning several genres as a model for his own work.
