Behind the music

About Dimension.

Dimension is the production and DJ alias of Robert Etheridge. He signed to MTA Records in 2014, releasing Love To Me / Move Faster during that period. Discussing Love To Me in a contemporary interview, he described building the track around synth chords and a studio vocal session with Amy Pearson.

Etheridge's accounts of making music put particular emphasis on songwriting and arrangement. For Love To Me, he explained how a fuller vocal arrangement was cut back and reshaped before a new studio session helped complete the track. His description shows a record taking shape through revision and collaboration, rather than a single fixed idea.

His collaboration with Sub Focus, Desire (with Dimension) [Sub Focus & Dimension], was first released in 2018 and later included on his debut album, Organ, in March 2021. Etheridge described the album as an opportunity to present his work as an electronic producer beyond a single genre.

On Organ, he explored that approach across different tempos and musical settings. Discussing the record, he explained that some songs developed over several years, while others began as chords written during travel. He wanted the album to reflect the breadth of his interests as an electronic musician, bringing vocal-led drum and bass together with material that moved outside the genre's usual tempo.

Dimension also tours as part of Worship alongside Sub Focus, Culture Shock, and 1991. His official management site lists further Worship dates in North America for October and November 2026.
