Duskee

Duskee is a London-based MC and vocalist whose writing brings hip-hop influences into drum and bass. His approach developed through listening to different parts of the scene, gradually moving away from faster rave bars towards lyrics that could be heard and absorbed as songs.

Seeing Calibre at Outlook was a turning point. Duskee described leaving the festival with a different sense of what the music could do, drawing connections between the soulful drum and bass and hip-hop he heard there. Personal experience became central to his lyrics, with the instrumental’s mood helping determine what he would write.

His collaboration with K Motionz on Hack It introduced that voice to a wider audience through UKF. He also formed a working partnership with Disrupta, including Deep Thoughts on Liquid V. The two connected through shared management and developed a rapport around liquid material.

His own Solar Boy EP on DarkMode provided a further outlet for that writing, including work with PAV4N. Other recordings have linked him with Document One, Operate, and My Nu Leng, bringing his vocals into both soulful tracks and more direct club music.
