Natty Lou

Natty Lou is a British drum and bass producer and DJ whose introduction to the music came while studying in Bristol between 2008 and 2012. Raving and performing with the Bass Honeys dance collective brought her into the scene before she moved abroad to continue working in teaching and dance.

She began learning to mix while living in Hong Kong in 2018. After returning to Britain during the pandemic, she put more time into DJing and production, taking an introductory course with Education & Bass. Producing became a way to turn the music she had spent years dancing to into her own recordings.

Her 2023 debut release, All For You with Dolly Rae, arrived through DeVice. Alpenglow followed on Liquicity with Lottie Jones, bringing her interest in liquid melodies and vocal songwriting into focus. Further collaborations include Mi Nawe with Nes Mburu and Tempted with Gemma Rose.

She often builds a production around a topline: Rose supplied both the vocal idea and piano melody for Tempted. Her later catalogue includes Signs with D*Minds and We Fall with Biometrix and Christina Harrison. Those partnerships sit alongside her own interest in piano, atmospheric introductions, and the contrast between a melodic build and a heavier drop.
