Nu4m is the drum and bass alias of Saint Petersburg producer Ilya Akberov, who began exploring the music in 2007. His catalogue moves between harder electronic forms and more melodic work, with releases and collaborations across Free BPM Organization, Invisible, Paperfunk, and Live History Records.
Nonsense EP, released by Free BPM Organization in 2018, places his work within neurofunk, techstep, and technoid drum and bass. Built around his original Nonsense, the release adds versions from Dyslexia, Encode and Steel Swatter, MJ Free and Item, T.Mas and Bastet, and Spectrah.
Work with Kije reveals another side of that output. Their Delirium appeared on Invisible in 2016, while Live History released Close Your Eyes. The pair also remixed Phrakture and Maria Carmela’s Something Useful, which its label described as progressive liquid drum and bass.
