Tekill is a drum and bass DJ and producer based in New York City. His jump-up influences include the 2012–15 era of Low Down Deep, particularly records by Majistrate and Voltage. In his own writing, he values restraint, groove, and bass sounds that leave room for the drums.
His single Vial Swashbuckler is the second release in Louder Than Words, the Dirtbox Recordings series connecting music with photography and personal stories. Started in summer 2023 and developed through several versions, it pairs a field recording from Kulaniapia Falls with a Gucci Mane vocal reflecting Tekill’s time living in Atlanta. The accompanying photograph draws on a Greenpoint water tower near a court where he skates.
Tekill also shares original productions and his Tekill Selects mixes through SoundCloud. His self-released track Vendetta Mood appeared there in 2024. Across his interview and release notes, he describes a process shaped by New York’s pace: getting an arrangement down quickly, then returning to refine the details.
