V O E are Adelaide duo Caroline and Tom, whose drum and bass brings their own male and female vocals into music spanning liquid and neurofunk. Previously performing separately as CARZi and Tevlo, they found a shared direction after meeting through a radio interview.

Caroline was hosting a show on Fresh 92.7 when she invited Tom in to discuss his music. He mentioned having trouble finding a vocalist, and she offered to join his next studio session. Their first track, Armour, led to another eight in three months, turning a collaboration into a continuing project.

The name stands for Vision of Empire, suggested by a friend while they were preparing Asking For It in 2018. Their studio partnership combines songwriting and vocals with production, mastering, and DJ work, sharing the practical jobs as well as the music.

Winning Koven’s Track & Build competition brought Giants to NCS in 2020. They worked with Koven and the team to finish its vocals and master, while another collaboration, Not Thinking Straight with Telomic, developed during lockdown. Both belong to a catalogue in which singing is part of the duo’s own identity, rather than a guest added after the instrumental is finished.
