Zero T is Cian McCann, an Irish producer based in London whose drum and bass draws on soul, hip-hop, and a long-standing interest in samples. His early work developed around Dublin’s Bassbin scene, while later recordings have connected him with a broad range of producers and vocalists. The musical thread is not a single formula so much as an interest in giving rhythm and melody a strong relationship.
His work for Lenzman’s The North Quarter includes Anseo & Anois, a 2024 EP that places different approaches within one record. Let Me Know features MANNY, while All I See brings together singer Steo and pianist Onj. The collaborations make room for different voices without losing the production identity connecting the tracks.
The partnership with Onj also produced Kilburn in 2022. The musicians had lived in the same building for years, yet part of the album’s development happened through exchanging files remotely. That combination of proximity and working separately gives an interesting context to music built around their shared interest in harmony and rhythm. They continued the collaboration with Steo on Onslaught, released by Hospital Records in 2026.
McCann’s wider projects provide another perspective on the music. Bruk Rogers gives him an outlet for broken beat, while Searchlight, with Beta 2, reaches into live jazz and soul. Discussing those activities with UKF, he also described the digging and sampling behind his Zero T work. The related names reveal different sides of the same musician, while their styles and credits remain distinct from the drum and bass catalogue.
