Jade started Eatbrain in 2011 as a home for neurofunk, releasing his own productions alongside artists including Mindscape, State of Mind, Teddy Killerz, and L 33. Label events and podcasts bring that group of producers together beyond their individual releases.
The label’s identity also developed through its live presence. By 2019, Eatbrain events were appearing in European clubs and on festival stages, taking the producers behind its releases into the same setting. Its podcasts give those artists another way to present music between records, connecting the catalogue with the DJs who play it.
Jade’s Awake and Propaganda EPs both arrived in 2018, with Respirator, made with State of Mind, adding to his collaborations on the imprint. His earlier Eatbrain tracks include Audio Hypnosis and Smash Face, and he contributed They Are Mutants to the Mirror Universe album project. The label followed his earlier recording work for Citrus Recordings, giving the producer his own operation within the neurofunk scene.
